General Meeting Thursday November 19 6-7pm (Zoom)
It is that time of year when Antigonish Baseball is required to renew their board of directors with the NS Registry of Joint Stocks. Normally this is submitted without issue and we deal with electing the board of directors (fancy way of saying core group of parent leaders) at our AGM in the later winter/early spring. However as Kris is stepping down from Antigonish Baseball, so we need to name a new board when we file this paperwork (due at the end of the month). Therefore there will be a general meeting via Zoom this Thursday (November 19th) from 6-7 pm. This meeting is open to all members and program participants including those from our two semi-independent programs: Antigonish Challenger and North Nova Highlanders. The meeting will review last year's budget and then elect new leadership. If you cannot attend but would like to help shape the direction of our recreation, competitive, other programs then please email antigonishbaseball@gmail.com and you will be added to the list of leaders.
If you would like to attend please email antigonishbaseball@gmail.com. You will then be sent the Zoom link.

Antigonish launches new website to enhance sport experience for families

April 27th, 2020
While most sport programming and activities have been postponed due to Covid-19, Antigonish has launched a new sport initiative that aims to keep families informed. Antigonish is a trail blazer in community sport initiatives in NS with its programs like its highly touted multi-sport program. Today that trend continued with the launch of Antigonish's new mysporthub.ca, an online interface for athletes, parents, and community sport organizations that will enhance communication and provide one-stop shopping for community sport.
The Sport Hub website is a new initiative that aims to provide a streamlined approach to sport delivery in the Antigonish area. As a multi-sport, multi-organization initiative the Sport Hub aims to increase and enhance sport participation and collaboration between community sport organizations. This will lead to more positive sport experiences for all involved in sport in our community. This project, which has been in development for months, is supported by various local sport organizations, the Town of Antigonish, the County of Antigonish, the Province of NS, and Sport NS.
The Sport Hub is an online portal that will be a unique and valuable tool for families in the Antigonish area. It brings together the different sporting organizations, which will allow families to get information about multiple sport organizations in one place and allow for better scheduling that will minimize conflicts between sports. During this period of social-distancing the full functionality of the site has been temporarily restricted, but eventually athletes, families, and community sport organizations will be able to use the Sport Hub to manage their schedules, register for different programs, and get up to date information on everything from policies to cancellations. By bringing together families and community sport organizations at one site, communications between individuals and organizations will be enhanced, facility bookings and scheduling between sports will be better managed, and athletes will be able to participate in more sports with less of a chance of conflicts. For community sports organizations there are additional benefits in terms of lessening administration and behind the scenes paperwork.
Whether you’re new to the sport scene and don’t know what sports your child is eligible to play, or you’re a coach looking to message families about a schedule change, this is a “one-stop” Hub for all of us.
Create a free account and be added to the Sport Hub newsletter list so you'll be the first to know about programming in Antigonish and to learn how you can use Sport Hub to register and manage your family's schedule!
